Why Mobile Devices Sometimes Struggle with Downloads
Most phones and tablets block direct file downloads from links. If you’re on iOS 11 or higher, you should be able to download. If you haven’t updated recently, pop into Settings and upgrade before you try.
Working with ZIP Files
All of our digital downloads arrive packaged in a ZIP folder. ZIP keeps your files organized and delivers them at a manageable size.
What to Do Next
On a Desktop or Laptop
- Click the link in your email.
- Save the ZIP to your computer. The key here is to remember where you save it.
- On Windows: right-click the ZIP file and choose Extract All.
- On Mac: double-click the ZIP file to unzip and reveal your files.
On an iPhone or iPad (iOS 11 or Higher) - Once extracted, your files will appear in the same folder as the ZIP file was saved.
- Once the file is unzipped, go ahead and delete the zip file as you no longer need it.
- You can now upload the file you need into your design software. Inside your unzipped folder, you’ll see multiple file types—SVG, DXF, PNG, and sometimes EPS or PDF. You only need one, depending on your machine.
- Use this list to identify the type of file you need:
SVG – for Cricut Design Space
DXF – for Silhouette Studio (Basic Edition)
PNG – for printing or sublimation
PDF – for reference or printing
EPS – for vector editing software
Troubleshooting Slow or Stalled Downloads
If your download is crawling or failing:
- Confirm you’re on a stable internet connection (Wi-Fi is best).
- Try a different browser (Chrome, Firefox, Edge, Safari).
- Pause any VPN or download managers that might interfere.
Finding Downloads on Your Computer
Most systems default to a Downloads folder. Here’s where to look:
- On Mac: click the Finder icon in your dock, then select Downloads.
- On Windows: open File Explorer (or My Computer) and click Downloads.
- If you renamed the file or saved elsewhere, use the search box with keywords from the file name.
Opening PDF Files
PDFs need a reader. Most computers already have Adobe Reader installed. If you don’t see one:
- Go to get.adobe.com/reader.
- Download and install the free Adobe Reader.
- Open your PDF from your Downloads folder.
